This regulated and nationally recognised qualification has been designed to equip Trainee Assessors with the knowledge, understanding and ability to perform the role of an Assessor in a work environment.

Intended Audience

The QA Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (RQF) has been specifically designed for those who wish to undertake qualification assessment, of occupational competence, in a work environment. This qualification is also suitable for Trainee Assessors who currently work in a mentoring/teaching/training environment and wish to further develop their knowledge and skills in competence based assessment.

Centre Requirements

In order to deliver this qualification, Centres will require a minimum of 1 Trainer and 1 Internal Quality Assurer (these cannot be the same person). Please refer to the above Qualification Specification (pages 5-6) to check the qualification approval requirements for these positions. Centres will also need to have appropriate policies, systems and procedures in place as well as suitable and adequate venues, equipment and learning resources.
