QA Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (QCF)
This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the knowledge and practical competencies needed to safely perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
The QA Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (QCF) qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide first aid and/or use an AED in an emergency.
During this half day course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to administer effective CPR and use an AED when dealing with an emergency situation. Topics covered include: CPR, choking, safe use of an AED, using an AED on a child, AED maintenance and more. Successful Learners will receive a QA Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (QCF) certificate as well a plastic aide memoire, both personalised with their Centre’s details.
In order to deliver this qualification, Centres will require a minimum of 1 Trainer and 1 Internal Quality Assurer (these cannot be the same person). Please refer to the Assessment Principles for Regulated First Aid Qualifications and the above Qualification Speicification (pages 12-14) to check the Training/Assessing and Quality Assurnance qualifications, and occupational knowledge and competence required for these positions. Centres will also need to have appropriate policies, systems and procedures in place, as well as suitable and adequate venues, equipment and learning resources.
