QA Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing (QCF)
EU and UK regulations state that all food handlers must receive appropriate training in food safety practices relevant to their duties. However, having a good understanding of food safety practices is not only a legal requirement, it is also essential in protecting the health of both consumers and food handlers.
The QA Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing (QCF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification specifically designed for people working, or planning to work, in a food manufacturing environment.
During this 1 day course, Learners will build an understanding of safe food handling practices and the importance of keeping foods safe. Topics covered include: personal responsibility for food safety, importance of personal hygiene, keeping work areas clean and hygienic, and the importance of keeping products safe. Successful Learners will receive a QA Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing (QCF) certificate personalised with their Centre’s details.
In order to deliver this qualification, Centres will require a minimum of 1 Trainer and 1 Internal Quality Assurer (these cannot be the same person). Please refer to the above Qualification Specification (pages 5-6) to check the qualification approval requirements required for these positions. Centres will also need to have appropriate policies, systems and procedures in place as well as suitable and adequate venues, equipment and learning resources.
