QA Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF)

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to prepare them for teaching in a wide range of contexts.

Intended Audience

The QA Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF) qualification has been specifically designed to be an introduction to teaching for those who work or would like to work in the further education and skills sector for, e.g. Further Education (FE) Colleges, Independent Training Providers and/or Local Authorities.

Course OverviewQualification Specification

Over a 5 day period, Learners will build an understanding of the specific roles and responsibilities related to planning and delivering inclusive training sessions. Topics covered include: maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment, relationships between teachers and other teaching professionals, assessing Learners and providing constructive and developmental feedback. Successful Learners will receive a QA Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF) certificate personalised with their Centre’s details.

Centre Requirements

In order to deliver this qualification, Centres will require a minimum of 1 Trainer and 1 Internal Quality Assurer (these cannot be the same person). Please refer to the above Qualification Specification (pages 5-6) to check the qualification approval requirements required for these positions. Centres will also need to have appropriate policies, systems and procedures in place as well as suitable and adequate venues, equipment and learning resources. For further details on Centre requirements, please consult pages 7-8 of the Qualification Specification above.

Centres must submit their own course overview, lesson plans, scheme of work, etc. at least 20 working days prior to the delivery of their first course in order to have them approved by Qualsafe Awards.
