The QA Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (RQF) is ideal for those who are looking for an introduction to the principles and practices of qualification assessment. This qualification may also be suitable for those who are currently performing the role of Assessor for certain vocationally related qualifications (please check the suitability of these qualifications with Qualsafe Awards).
Trainee Assessors may include individuals who currently work in a mentoring/teaching/training capacity and wish to further develop their knowledge and skills of assessment.
Throughout the duration of this course, Learners will develop the knowledge and understanding of assessment. Topics covered include: principles and requirements of assessment, how to plan assessments, quality assurance of the assessment process, managing information relating to assessment and more. Successful Learners will receive a QA Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (RQF) certificate personalised with their Centre’s details.
In order to deliver this qualification, Centres will require a minimum of 1 Trainer and 1 Internal Quality Assurer (these cannot be the same person). Please refer to the above Qualification Specification (pages 5-6) to check the qualification approval requirements for these positions. Centres will also need to have appropriate policies, systems and procedures in place as well as suitable and adequate venues, equipment and learning resources. For further details on Centre requirements, please consult pages 7-8 of the Qualification Specification above.
